Captain Jon Fiskness is 50 ton Master with an assisted towing endorsement.

I believe the customer is paying hard earned money to have an enjoyable, safe and productive trip. I will do everything within my ability to put you where the fish are biting. I will be to the specified location on time and ready for a day of fishing. The boat will be safe, in good working order, and clean.

I have fished the lower St. Louis River and Northeastern Minnesota Lakes for 10+ years. Since 1998 I have been a first mate for several Lake Superior charter operations. This is where I have turned a hobby into a science. I also have learned what it takes to make a guide service successful. My relationship with the Lake Superior captains is excellent. If you are interested in a Lake Superior fishing adventure, I would be more than happy to give you a referral. I still work as a first mate on weekends when I am not taking clients out.

It is important to note that the St. Louis River is United States Coast Guard Navigatable waters and a minimum of a USCG 6 pack license is needed to run charters. Some guides are not in compliance with the licensing. It does not hurt to ask about the Coast Guard license!
